Children with smart gadgets all over the world will soon get the opportunity to gain money and maths skills, and learn with their friends and family using the bMoneywize app.

bMoneywize aims to encourage young people gain the knowledge, confidence and skills to manage money.

Barking Library- Barking Learning Centre, at 2 Town Square, Barking IG11 7NB was the venue for the pre launch pilot of the #bMoneywize educational app.

Facilitated by 20 year old Charlie Madigan, a student at the Barking and Dagenham college, about 13 children arrived to take a test drive on the PCs held in the training room. After an hour I was still trying to help the remaining 9 children understand that the session was over as more joined us!

Abigail 13 year old says she liked the fact the game presented options to encourage her to think of ways to create income using real life situations.

The project was led by Mr Henry Quarshire an IT lecturer and mentor at the college.

Here’s some footage of the session with the children: https://youtu.be/yE8vHf5Xqnk

Charlie says:

“The whole experience was exhilarating. Seeing a project that I have poured so much time care and attention towards coming together and teaching children the importance of financial management and knowing that I was making a difference was absolutely amazing.”
